Explore our Ghost Towns and old homesteads that are a part of America's Western history. Hear the stories of those who pioneered this area. Learn about our ranches, cattle and the cowboys' way of life. Attend a parade, community afternoon in the park, games for children, PRCA rodeos and much more during the 4th of July celebrations. Take a guided tour, go rock hunting (Fairburn and Quartz are likely finds), or horseback riding. We have excellent hiking and biking trails for your enjoyment.

Read all about our history as a railroad boomtown. Watch the trains as they rumble through town. Visit a historic railroad tunnel at nearby Belmont. In August sit and watch the motorcycle enthusiasts rumble past on their way to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual Bike Rally. Are you on your way to Sturgis or the Black Hills? Stop and take advantage of the free camping at our local City Park. We are only an hour away from Hot Springs, SD via a very scenic, out of the way back road. Highway 2/71 is paved and takes you through National Grasslands. Stop for a refreshing swim at Cascade Falls.
